Raymond Milner

Raymond Milner is an award-nominated scenic and exhibition designer based in Brisbane, Australia. With a career spanning over a decade, he has worked on productions across theatre, dance, opera, musicals, festivals, and museum exhibitions.

Raymond holds a Bachelor of Theatre Arts from the University of Southern Queensland, a Diploma of Interior Design from CATC Design School, and a Master of Museum Studies from The University of Queensland, where he focused on the role of scenography in contemporary museums and galleries.

Alongside his work in theatre with companies such as Queensland Theatre, Brisbane Festival, and Metro Arts, Raymond is employed as an exhibition designer with Queensland Museum. One of his notable projects includes the major international exhibition Discovering Ancient Egypt, where his design work helped bring ancient history to life for modern audiences.

His theatre credits include acclaimed productions such as Six Hundred Ways to Filter a Sunset (Queensland Theatre), Kill Climate Deniers (Metro Arts and THAT Production Company), and Anatomy of a Suicide (Metro Arts and BC Productions). In 2015 he received a Matilda Award nomination for Best Design (set and costume) for Heavenly Bodies and served as set designer for Breaking the Castle, which is touring nationally.

Raymond’s work is known for its imaginative and emotionally resonant storytelling through space and design, enriching both the stage and museum worlds in Australia.
